What is your non-negotiable top priority?

Most buyers have a list of what they want in a home and neighborhood but they rarely find everything on the list in one property. Choosing the right home for you usually involves compromise… deciding what you are willing to sacrifice to get what is most important to you.

When I recently had the final walkthrough before closing with a delightful couple I have been working with for a long time, they were absolutely beaming as they walked out onto their balcony. Not only was the view spectacular, they could also hear the soothing sounds of St. Anthony Falls nearby. Their non-negotiable top priority was a downtown river view and their view is awesome!

They looked at properties that were bigger… newer… with 'cooler' design… but none had the view they longed for. They kept 'awesome river view' as their non-negotiable top priority… and got it!  The home they bought was much smaller than they expected to buy, but they decided simplifying was a good thing.  It gave them their top priority… with the added benefit of more money to save and spend on the travel they love. It guided them to focus on the things that are most important to them.

I got the photo below from them the next evening, after they moved in… they were still beaming!
